The Book Of Mark Pt 1

In the first part of our study we begin in Mark Chapter 1. We discuss the writer, who he was writing and his writing style. We notice that he summarizes events that other gospel writers would explain in more detail. The opening of the book focuses quickly on John the Baptizer. We see how prophecy spoke of John, spoke of Jesus and how it all set the stage for Jesus to change the world. Knowing that at this time in history there had not been a prophet sent by God for more than 400 years. John coming, speaking of Jesus was truly a fulfillment of the promises that God made generations beforehand.

Many Christians struggle to pray, read their bible. We are taking intentional steps in our church to go beyond encouraging people to do these essential things, we want to learn to do them together. We are going to take some time on Sunday Nights to learn to read through the book of Mark together. By doing this together we can practice bible study methods as well as teach on the things we find in scripture. We will be reading the book of Mark. We encourage you to read this in your free time as it will enhance our time together exploring God's word.
